Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

$59.99

winemaker's notes:
A textbook Cabernet Sauvignon, the varietally expressive Bin 407 highlights the rewards of Penfolds' multi-region, multi-vineyard blending, with a core of ripe fruit supported by a sensitive use of French and American oak.

Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon is a fresh, elegant style with clear varietal black currant/cassis aromas, fine grained firm tannins and underlying cedary/savory oak. The deep color, sheen, richness and buoyancy of the wine suggest this could be one of the very best of this series.

Aged in 50% new oak of which 30% is French, the very deep purple-black colored 2011 Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon presents pure, pronounced cassis aromas wed to underlying Mediterranean herb, cedar, pencil lead and menthol notes. Medium-bodied and taut in the mouth, with just enough expressive fruit to meet the firm, grainy tannins and lively acid, it finishes with good length. 2,715 bottles were made.
